Horndean Community Halls and Clubs: Venues and How to Hire

Horndean's halls include Merchistoun Hall, Jubilee Hall, Napier Hall and Horndean Technology College, with more in Clanfield and Lovedean. Here is who runs each and how to book.

Which community halls and venues are there in Horndean?

Horndean's main community venues are Merchistoun Hall, Jubilee Hall, Napier Hall and the community facilities at Horndean Technology College. Merchistoun Hall: Horndean Community Association

Merchistoun Hall is run by The Horndean Community Association, a registered charity (number 301854). The Charity Commission register gives its address as Merchistoun Hall, 106 Portsmouth Road, Horndean, Waterlooville, PO8 9LJ, with the telephone number 023 9259 7114 and the website merchistounhall.btck.co.uk. The same register entry lists its work as including education, arts and culture, amateur sport, recreation and providing buildings and facilities, for children, older people, people with disabilities and the general public.

Jubilee Hall and Napier Hall: hired through Horndean Parish Council

Jubilee Hall is on Crouch Lane, Horndean, PO8 9SU, and is also the home of the parish council office. Horndean Parish Council's halls for hire page shows Jubilee Hall available on Wednesdays from 2.30pm to 6.00pm and on Saturdays from 10am to 9pm, with Saturday availability changing regularly. Napier Hall's main hall is shown as available on Monday from 11am to 6pm, Tuesday from 1.30pm to 5.30pm, Wednesday from 11.30am to 5.30pm and Thursday from 8.30am to 5pm, with Saturday availability too. The page also lists a committee room at Napier Hall with longer hours, including evenings on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and says Napier Hall is available for Friday night bookings from 5pm to 9pm.

What runs at Horndean Technology College?

Horndean Technology College's community learning page lists a Horndean Ukulele Group, a Horndean Men's Shed that meets on Thursday evenings from 7pm to 9pm, a crochet and knitting group called Balls n Banter on Thursday evenings, and walking and club tennis on Tuesdays. It lists memberships of £20 for six months for the Men's Shed and for Balls n Banter, and a Christmas Fayre on Saturday 14 November 2026 from 1pm to 4pm. Bookings go through the college's TicketSource page or by booking form.

The college also hires out facilities, including Barton Hall, which it says holds up to 450 people with tiered seating, in-house catering and a licensed bar, as well as meeting rooms, sports halls and pitches. For hall enquiries ring the Community Office on 023 9259 9753.

What is on in Clanfield?

Clanfield Memorial Hall is at 17b South Lane, Clanfield, PO8 0RB. Its booking website says the main hall has parquet flooring and a stage, there are two smaller carpeted meeting rooms, and all spaces have kitchen access. It is run as a charity by volunteer trustees. The site lists exercise classes, bowls, ukulele, spinning, dance, ballet, craft, baton-twirling and pre-school groups among its regular activities, and says the Blood and Transplant Service holds regular donation sessions there. The Clanfield Centre is at 2 Endal Way, Clanfield, PO8 0YF, and is run by the charity Community First. Its timetable lists activities including tai chi, yoga, pilates, netball clubs, taekwondo, karate, pickleball and table tennis, plus toddler sessions, and its parties page says it offers parties. Its contact page gives the phone number as 02394 211650.

What about Lovedean and Catherington?

Lovedean Village Hall is a registered charity (number 301879) whose address on the Charity Commission register is 76A Lovedean Lane, Waterlooville, PO8 9ST, telephone 023 9259 3904. The register lists education, amateur sport and religious activities among its work, for children, older people and the general public. The register lists no website for it, so ring to ask about the hall.

Catherington Village Hall is also a registered charity (number 301773). The Charity Commission register gives the phone number 023 9226 1689. Ring to ask where the hall is and how to hire it.
